Travel

The Travel Program is a competitive, tryout-based basketball program designed for players with advanced skills and serious commitment to the sport. Participants compete in highly competitive games against travel teams from other towns, providing exposure to elite-level competition. The program features more demanding skill development sessions and practices compared to recreational programs, making it ideal for dedicated players seeking to elevate their game and compete at the highest local level.

Teams are coached by parent volunteers. Parents can indicate their interest during player registration, and will need to complete the coaches registration.

Chester travel basketball teams are offered for boys grades four through eight.

Travel tryout dates will be released in September with tryouts taking place in October. The travel season begins with practices starting in November through the end of February. Travel teams participate in the Jersey Basketball League (JBL).

Practice Notes:

• Two practices per week (primarily weekdays).
• Possible 3rd practice on weekends (coach discretion & gym availability).
• Practice schedules released closer to season start.
• Week-to-week adjustments possible due to weekday travel games.
